Poetry Of A Lady: Christian Dior Fall 2012 2013 Collection

Now that Stefano Pilati is out from YSL, Raf Simmons left Jil Sander (word is he was actually fired), more and more designers look eligible for the Christian Dior head designer chair. But what if… …what if Christian Dior isn’t going further? What if they’re sticking with Bill Gayten ? Would that be so wrong? Sure, the Christian Dior Fall Winter 2012 2013 collection was light and although it included some dark colors, leather and fur, it looked like catwalk poetry to me. No particularly deranging silhouettes, no cutting edge looks, just flowing lines and nice clothes. Can Dior settle for “nice”? Let’s wait the style dot com review and find out… Poetry Of A Lady: Christian Dior Fall 2012 2013 Collection

Tutus And OPI: Ballet Inspired Nail Polish

More than one year after we’ve witnessed the Black Swan sweeping pretty much every award in the most prestigious ceremonies, the Ballet effect lingers on. OPI releases a new addition to the SoftShade nail polish collection inspired by the New York City Ballet . With natural pinks, delicate hues of lilac and dazzling sparkles, OPI is, once again, putting the trends at our fingernails. And who could resist a nail polish named like this: “ Don’t touch my Tutu “? I couldn’t! Forget Chanel’s Blue Sky thing , I’m all speed towards the new OPI Ballet! (minor detour via the tutu shop – wink) Tutus And OPI: Ballet Inspired Nail Polish

Fashionably Cheap Marc By Marc Jacobs Fall 2012

I was going to do Moschino Cheap and Chic. And it suddenly hit me that I completely forgot about Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall Winter 2012 2013 . Which was already labeled by my highly fashionable self with the “cheap” attribute. In a fashionable manner of speaking, biensur. Cheap in fashion standards has another dimension from the normal “cheap”. Fashionably cheap is, fashionably speaking, something less expensive , biensur. Which actually means affordable. In fashion standards. And wearable. By normal style standards. Marc Jacobs managed to pull nice clothes out of his mad hat . Sparkle and shine, bright and trendy too, that’s what you’ll want for next fall ! Won’t you? (you’ll see more from the collection here ) Fashionably Cheap Marc By Marc Jacobs Fall 2012

Retro Game: Moschino Cheap And Chic Fall 2012

I said I was going to talk about Moschino Cheap and Chic Fall Winter 2012 2013 and so here am I! You have to see this collection ! It’s so beautiful, feminine, joyful and chic! Below an example of what Moschino ’s fall catwalk looked like! I loved the hair, I loved the clothes! And most of all, I loved the orange hues! (do you think the trends assigned for London Fashion Week involve orange like red was the must – do color for NY FW?) Retro Game: Moschino Cheap And Chic Fall 2012

Plaid Glamour: Ralph Lauren Fall Winter 2012 2013

I was ready to move on and talk about London Fashion Week only and then bam! I remembered there was more than Marc by Marc Jacobs : I hadn’t said a word about Ralph Lauren’s Fall Winter 2012 2013 collection ! And I really wanted to! Because although it was just one collection , it actually looked like two different collections on that runway! One collection that was very Downtown Abbey, as reported by style dot com : plaids, sweaters, high knee socks and cute little hats and one other collection that was very glam and Red Carpet inclined. As I’m sure Ralph Lauren tried to give his best interpretation of the season’s trends, but he ended up torn between glamour and English suit charm. And although the collection in its entirety was pretty, charming and really wearable, I felt it lacked cohesion and coherence. But that’s ok by fashion standards, it’s called diversity. Inspiration. Vision. Isn’t it? Plaid Glamour: Ralph Lauren Fall Winter 2012 2013

Jean Paul Gaultier Couture Spring 2012 Amy Winehouse Inspired Collection

Now that’s a fun Haute Couture event! Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2012 Couture was such a beautiful show, so colorful, so meaningful, so modern and anchored in our current reality! I loved it! It was almost entirely inspired by Amy Winehouse , which we know, was a source of fashion inspiration for many designers and brands (remember her collection for Fred Perry ). Jean Paul Gaultier made this amazing couture soup based on Amy Winehouse’s dechiré style, added some corset and lace to spice things up and served it with a pinch of his usual rock’n’roll. As usual, I selected a handful of models I liked the most, but feel free to check out the entire collection here . Jean Paul Gaultier Couture Spring 2012 Amy Winehouse Inspired Collection
